Whew! I had a busy couple of weeks there.
Here it is, Wednesday again, time for another Yarn Along with Ginny.
When I saw this pattern I knew I had to have it.
I made my first cable sweater about 10 years ago, and it certainly looked like my first cable sweater. It didn't quite fit, there were multiple dye lots, the fronts were knitted in strange pieces, it was kind of a mess.
I ripped out that sweater, washed and dried the yarn and this afternoon I cast on the collar for Aeneas.
The pattern is really lovely, and I can't wait to see how it all works up.

I haven't really been reading lately, but I grabbed my copy of Giant yesterday from the bookshelf, and I am again thoroughly enjoying it.
It feels great to be back here, and knitting. What are you reading and knitting lately?
Wow- that cardigan is going to be gorgeous with all those cables! Good for you for taking apart the project that didn't work and putting that yarn to good use.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the look of the Aeneas! Good luck with your knitting.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern you chose is quite stunning! I am sure your sweater is going to be gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWow, that'll be quite fancy in terms of stitches. Love the shape of the sleeves. Which stitch is used on it? Moss?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's moss stitch.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to wear this sweater!
Thanks for the visits, ladies!
Wow! That is a great cable sweater pattern.

I love her new booklet and would love to knit just about everything in it. Can't wait to see your finished sweater!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm knitting on a blanket that's been sleeping for waaaay too long. I know, knitting a blanket in this heat?? Crazy.
I love cables and what you have done so far looks gorgeous. My only problem is that with two littles, it's hard to knit and do the counting that needs to be done. Great work so far!
ReplyDeleteI remember my first cable attempt too :)
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is gorgeous and a lovely choice of yarn to compliment it!
I love cables too, but I'm not sure if I could tackle a whole grown-up sized sweater yet. I bet it will be gorgeous. I can't wait to see updates. I'm following you now. You can visit me at karmama.ca
