My New Teacher, Ms. Potter

Drawing has always been something of a challenge for me. It occurred to me that if I didn't practice I wouldn't get any better. So tonight I pulled out some inspiration in the form of Mrs. Rabbit. Beatrix Potter's illustrations have captivated my imagination my whole life. The eye of a naturalist with the wit to dress rabbits, mice and frogs in waistcoats and dresses. 

I can't think of a better teacher (that I don't have to leave the house to meet)

Purple Abounding

Yesterday I couldn't help but notice all of the thrilling color popping out in my yard. 

This week it's all purple, soon we may see other colors, but for now purple is the color of spring. (Those tulips are really much deeper purple than they appear...)
