A Finished Project

I started this quilt in July of 2008.
I am a little shocked that it took me this long to finish, but there it is.
Treadle Yard Goods, where I work, carries supplies for fabric books from time to time and I am a total sucker for preprinted panels, so when we got a best of Beatrix Potter panel I had to get it.
Instead of a book, I decided to make a quilt.
So, 14 months later, here it is finished.
I might have to sew down the inner border, it flips up and looks kind of funny.
When I started it I thought it would be for the family, but the Elder Hug-a-Bug saw it and said "Ooh! A Peter Rabbit quilt for me?!?" so it'll be for her.
Only 3 more days until she starts full-day kindergarten.
I am excited for her, and worried, and happy, and full of anxiety.
This week might be a tough one.

  1. HELLO JESSICA! Your quilt is adorable and kudos to the Elder for saying just-the-right-thing to score herself a new quilt!
    I have 2 requests...
    1. Please post a photo of what the Elder picked out to wear on her first day of kindergarten.
    2. Go watch the director's cut of "Glee" on fox.com. You will love it!
    I'll wait here.... Thanks.

  3. I love the quilt -- so beautiful!! I must say...I wish mine were back starting kindergarten. Such an easy go of it back then -- relatively speaking! My youngest is starting HS tomorrow. Eeek! Wish me luck and I'll do the same for you!

  4. Lovely quilt, i used to love Beatrix Potter when i was a girl. I even visited her cottage in the Lake District. I've seen some wonderful quilts in blogland and would realy like to make one myself, one day maybe.

    Good luck with kindergarten.

  7. It's very sweet. This reminds me of a baby quilt I cross stiched the panels for when I was in highschool. It's still unfinished. So in my eyes, you did it pretty quickly.
