weaving

This morning I began a weaving class at The Yarnery.
So much fun.
So much information in the first class what with wrapping the warping board and lining everything up and tension and whatnot.
I got started on a scarf in class and when I brought the loom home my lovely Elder Hug-a-Bug was very interested in this new project.
So, I set her up in the kitchen and she went to town. She was doing as well as any of the folks in our class.
Maybe someone needs a loom for her birthday.

HELLO JESSICA!
What are you using for you warp and weft? It looks great!

HELLO ANONYMOUS!
I am using Somoko for the warp and Trail Socks for the weft.
I was going to go boring and use some stash, but the colors here just called my name.

Gorgeous! I've wanted to do weaving for years. What loom do you have?

HELLO JESSICA! I applaud your efforts in avoiding stash depletion... a very real, very serious danger that should be avoided at all costs.

Yay you! Maybe next cycle I'll be able to fit a weaving class into my schedule. Need to use up some of this fingering weight somehow. :-/

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Elder will be mighty sad when your class loom rental terminates...
