So, today is the day when I begin taking back my house from the mess.
It's a little frightening around here.
Lots of dishes to do, lots of laundry to wash, clutter everywhere (much of it due to unfinished knitting or sewing projects that may or may not be mine), and vacuuming needed in almost every room.
After some initial whining, I washed a bunch of dishes, washed about 5 loads of laundry, and then I started cleaning up the kids' room.
I looked through 3 years of photos and clearly their room is always a disaster because I could only find these photos of what it looked like before today.
Some of what I did was the usual stuff, new linens on the beds, vacuum, throw out stuff that needed throwing out, but I also put up a bunch of art, re-oriented the Younger's bed 90 degrees, pulled the costume corner out of the closet and into the bedroom, and used a lesson learned from The Shawshank Redemption which is this - if you have a crack in your wall, hide it with a big damn poster.Three posts in one day, I don't know how that happened.
How is your Friday treating you?
bravo to you on a productive day ! doesn't it feel good !?!
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration!! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteHELLO JESSICA!
ReplyDeleteGood on you for showing the untidiness who is boss! For my Friday, I kitchnered, kitchnerd.... whatever, the second thumb on my Norwegian mittens (thus finishing that project, at least until I decide to line them!), took a short dog for 1.5 hour walk, and tonight said short dog is getting groomed at PetSmart, and I'm finishing hat #5, starting #6.
In summation, at my house it's Untidiness = 1, YOUR FRIEND = 0!
you're too funny.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I have some serious reorganizing and decluttering to do in my house. Our walls are in need of artwork too. I love the dress-up area. Ours is a pile and a bin on the floor of H's closet!
ReplyDeleteKerry, ours was a big pile this morning too!
ReplyDeleteI found that wicker chest at ValuThrift last week and it is my new best friend.
Even when they take everything out and leave it on the floor in a big pile, I can just transfer the pile to the chest and the room is clean again!
Hooray!
