Yarn Along

It's Yarn Along time!
I started both a new book and a new knitting project this week.
The book is How Eskimos Keep Their Babies Warm and Other Adventures in Parenting.
One of the Mamas in my ECFE class suggested it and it's full of fascinating information.
The author is an American living in Buenos Aires and she compares parenting styles from different cultures around the world.
The first chapter was about sleep, and each chapter takes on a different parenting issue - toilet training, discipline, schooling, etc.
The knitting is small, I know, but I haven't had that much time to devote to knitting this week.
This is the yoke of the Ariana Shell. It should be a nice weight for late summer/ early fall.
What's on your needles this week?

  1. that book sounds fascinating, I've never heard of it before. certainly when I found out I was expecting my next child while living in Asia, I became really interested in the different ways things are done there (though now that I'm home I'm very aware of all the Chinese "rules" I'm breaking!)

  2. What an interesting book. I wish I had read it when I was having my babies; now I will let my children know about it.
Have a great yarn along day.

  6. Sounds like a good book! Do you like the Kindle? I've been doing some research lately after saying NO WAY until then. I think I'm tempted by the backlit options to read in bed without the light on. My hubby might just spring for this!!
It's always nice to have knitting in your bag, even when you are busy, just in case you are caught with a few minutes to spare!
